Mini Myo/Habit Breaking
(Ages 4-6)

An open mouth in children is often a sign that they are struggling with an airway concern. If your child has had their tonsils removed, is a loud and messy eater, restless sleeper or is snoring and grinding teeth at night, they would benefit from early myofunctional intervention.

Oral habits such as thumbsucking, pacifier use, and nail biting, can train our tongue to sit low in our mouths and affect the shape of a growing jaw.

Signs your child may have a myofunctional disorder include:

  • messy/loud eating

  • trouble focusing/behaviour concerns

  • snoring/sleep apnea

  • ADD/ADHD

  • bed wetting

  • picky eating/texture issues

  • open mouth at rest

  • tongue tie noted or treated at birth

  • speech concerns

  • frequently tired

  • digestive issues/gassy/reflux

  • restless sleep/night wakings
