Orthodontics
and Relapse

"our teeth go on the journey that our jaw allows"

When our tongue is not resting properly in our mouth, our jaw is not getting the proper support and there are excess forces on our teeth during each swallow. This can cause narrow arches , crowding, or spaces between teeth that are difficult for an orthodontist to close. This improper support leads to an increase chance of relapse or shifting years after orthodontic treatment is completed.

Myofunctional therapy works to change our tongue's resting posture and swallowing pattern which will improve the results after braces and significantly decrease chance of relapse!
